The Gideon Project was created by the Reservists On Duty team to give students fluent in English a chance to represent and defend Israel internationally after their service. The central emphasis of the project is having former soldiers with diverse backgrounds join to be taught by top professionals in the field.

The team works with the best possible ambassadors enriching them with the tools needed and sends them to the United States and Canada as delegations. The participants chosen as delegates will speak about Israel and the IDF through the stories of their own journeys and first hand experiences.

Pilot Gideon Project 2017

Our 2017 group of 50 volunteers travelled to over 15 campuses across the US to educate and give truth to the lies BDS activists spread about the IDF and State of Israel. During the delegation, our groups visited Jewish and Christian communities and forged personal connections with community leaders. Next year we plan to enlarge our group to 100 activists that will work together towards successful delegations and continued relationships with communities abroad.

Why Us ?

Our participants have experienced first-hand the regular struggles, dilemmas and challenges that IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens confront day-to-day. On the other hand, as American/ Canadian citizens and former students in colleges and universities, they speak the language and understand the mindset of the local student population. They understand what they are going through, and can communicate with them as peers, heart to heart. The delegates are just like the students, average American teens, who nonetheless have been in Israel and in the IDF. This equips the average participant with reliability and a strong capability to represent Israel in the best way possible.

Where?

The delegates are sent across the US and Canada to different states from New York to California and everywhere in between. The delegates speak to students on campuses, community organizations, and religious institutions to forge bonds. The goal is to build bridges with communities, students, and institutions. We see a great importance in this cooperation between the groups, now and in the future. Friendship, unity, and cooperation is above all what holds people together and gives us strength.

Our Method

EDUCATE

Knowledge is power

Through educating young student leaders in the field on what really happens in Israel, we supply them with the tools to fight the lies of the BDS movement.

EMPOWER

Our goal is to empower students on campuses abroad and encourage them to be actively involved in standing up for Israel.

EXPOSE

Our biggest goal is to expose the BDS movement and contemporary anti-semitic groups such as JVP & SJP. We do this in defense of our people’s right to self determination and to defend our country from blatant lies and hatred against it.

Volunteers will:

• Meet with top Israeli army officials
• Attend classes with leaders in the field on improving Israel’s stance abroad
